Early life and career
editKhan Bahadur Muhammad Hassan Khan was born in 1900, in a village called Jali (now Rasulpur) in Domeli. He belonged to an elite Rajpoot family.
After learning Quran at home, he went to school in Jhelum (Jhelum district) at age 10. After the completion of primary school, he joined the Survey of India in 1919.[1]
Khan Sahib participated in World War I & World War II, receiving the Indian Distinguished Service Medal (IDSM).[1] He served in the British Royal Army with the rank of Captain.
After World War II he was the 1st Muslim Army Officer who was appointed by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as 1st Director General Survey of Pakistan. Giving Pakistan occupied 3871 Square Km more during partition through the Radcliffe award
Director General of Survey of Pakistan. He also Served in Pakistan Army in the Magnificent 4th Battalion of Engineer Regiment, and was considered One of the most courageous and generous officers who fought in World War I & II. Later he was also given the title of Khan Bahadur. He passed away on 21 Dec 1948[1]
He dedicated his life and the resources he had, to improving the lives of the Muslims of "Domeli" particularly and the Muslims of "Jhelum" generally.

Family
editKhan Sahib had three marriages and had children with the first and third wives. He had six sons and two daughters in total. His son Lieutenant Colonel Qurban Hassan Khan became the Chief Instructor of one of the top most ranking intelligence agency, the Inter Services Intelligence(ISI). Later this fine officer also served as Advisor to the Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates(UAE).
