About me

edit

I'm a student at Everett Community College, but I'm also a high school student. However, I love playing soccer because soccer means so much to me and it’s the only sport that I enjoy very much. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, where in many countries it is known as “football”.[1] Another interesting thing about me is that I like planting trees because whenever I visit my grandparents in Gambia they often teach me how to plant trees which I enjoy wonderfully.

My Wikipedia interests

edit

As a student I’m massively interested in learning more about how to use Wikipedia that would help me benefit in the future. For example, to be able to do internet research and sourcing information, because it is very important to have a reliable source.

Article evaluation

edit

I'm massively interested in knowing more about religion. Religion is something that helps people to determine what kind of god they believe in. However, knowing more about my religion would help me understand all the important aspects of Islam which would also help me follow the practices of Islam. Thus, I visited the Fasting in Islam article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its credibility, Its lack of citation, and its reliable source.

Credibility

edit

Even though there wasn’t a lot of citation on some of the pages, the sources are credible because the article was not one-sided and also there wasn’t any irrelevant form of citation that did not match with the article.

Citation

edit

Although there were lots of citations on the pages, I have begun to realize that some of them weren’t cited at all. So, it’s difficult to understand the article if there is not enough information or evidence on some of the pages that you are especially looking for them to be on.

Reliable source

edit

Based on my perspective I think the sources might be reliable to the article itself, because I think the article is up to date and the sources seem trustworthy. Therefore, I believe that the article has reliable sources.

Conclusion

edit

For me I rate the article as “alright,” because I think the article was well written. But the article itself can be well improved if there were citations on some of the pages that I was expecting them to be on. However, the article did very well on its reliable source and its credibility because it was easy for me to understand what the article was about.
