Dr Alex Craven BA PhD (Manchester) edit

I am a historian, currently employed by the Wiltshire Victoria County History to research the history of the county's parishes. I am interested in mid seventeenth-century Britain, and my thesis was a study of Lancashire during the Commonwealth of England. Prior to this, I have worked on Henry Ireton, and various aspects of radicalism. I have published articles on the religious and political history of the 1640s and 1650s.

Beyond academia, I am interested in music, photography and football (Reading F.C.).
