PEJ News - Peace, Earth & Justice News is a volunteer-run news source that can be found at www.PEJ.org.

The Peace, Earth and Justice News was founded as a series of subscription-based email listserves in 1999 by Al Rycroft. By 1994, several thousand individuals and organizations were subscribing to 13 different email news services covering local (Victoria & Gulf Islands) through International stories.

In 1994, these email services were consolidated into a single web site and PEJ News moved to its present online location at www.PEJ.org and continued publishing. At that time, a series of editors specializing in the various topics began volunteering with the free news site. Today, the online news service is owned and operated by Prometheus Institute, an incorporated non-profit based in Victoria, Canada. The searchable online archives include over 7,000 articles. About 25,000 page views per day are presently served from PEJ News to readers around the world.

PEJ News also accepts submissions from readers who login and submit news.

The PEJ News, analysis and opinion service presents alternative perspectives from the mainstream media around issues of peace and war, the environment and justice and often show the linkages between the various issues.

Google News and other news services monitor the site and post links to stories of interest to the general public. Many PEJ News articles are also referenced in Wikipedia articles.
