Sophia Dunbar nee Orred (1814 - 1909) was a Scottish painter and amateur archaeologist.
Life
editHer father was George Orred (born 1780) of Aigburth in Lancaster, England.
Her mother was Elizabeth Woodville (born 1785).
Sophia Orred was born in 20 December 1813 at Tranmere Hall in Cheshire, their youngest daughter.
She married Sir Archibald Keith Dunbar (5 July 1803 - 6 January 1898), who also was born at Tranmere Hall. As the 7th Baron of Northfield, his family seat was in Duffus, Moray. Archibald was baptised in Duffus House, and when Sophia later married Archibald she settled in Moray.
Sophia and Archibald married at St. Oswald's church in Chester on 5 November 1840.
