Elie Bijou is a resident of the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. He formerly served on the Executive Board of the Catskill 3500 Club as Trail Maintenance Chair. He is a member supervisor of the New Yrok- New Jersey Trail Conference and over sees 15 miles of trail in the Southern Catskill, which include Peekamose and Table Mts, both high peas of the Catskills.

As a member of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference, Mister Bijou had overseen the Catskill Region 3 as Trails Chair. Catskill Mountains. His tenure began 1 June 2009 and lasted until June 2010. He is also involved with the Long Path and has adopted several lean-to's and trails in New York State.

He holds a Bachelor's degree From Nyack College and is a short story writer and budding film maker. In addition, he is the owner of two cats of the Bengal breed, descendants of a cross between the Asian Leopard Cat and a tabby.

He is a member of the Soka Gakkai International a Buddhist organization that espouses the teachings of the 13th century priest, Nichiren, which include the law of cause and effect as well as the doctrine of realizing Buddhahood in ones present form, based on actual proof.
