My Musical Background and Outlook edit

I have an expansive musical background that stems from my childhood. One of my first toys was a tiny electronic keyboard, which I used to teach myself basic piano at age seven. In third grade, my school music teacher saw a spark in me and encouraged my further study in both piano and voice. My eventual voice lessons exposed me to the worlds of opera and musical theater; I never looked back. After enrolling at an arts school (where I studied for the remainder of my primary education), I kept up my vocal and piano studies, taught myself ten other instruments and started acting onstage in theatrical productions. Towards high school graduation, I ventured more into the technical side of music, including composition and arranging, producing original music, and more. Keeping up these studies at Berklee, I am continuing to learn more each day about how to thrive in the music industry and am simultaneously getting a head start on my professional career.

My musical outlook is simple: given the constant stream of new musical tools being developed to learn and utilize, there has never been a better time to be an artist. Up to now, virtually everything I’ve accomplished musically has been a source of excitement, and I look forward to a lifetime of that feeling.

My Proposed Topic edit

I plan to write a biography for a dear friend and collaborator. His name is Chris Anselmo, and he is an up-and-coming songwriter (that's composer and lyricist) of musical theater. He's already had two successful shows in New York City, and I've had the pleasure to work on one of these with him.
