Classics is a way of life. We do not see the modern world without seeing how the ancient world created it. Every modern idea will have numerous ancient ideas behind it. We cannot understand the present or the future without understanding our past. Those who fail to do so will only repeat the mistakes of others who tried the same e.g. Napoleon and Hitler both tried to attack Russia and both ended up being hit by the worst Russian winters in their respective centuries.
