I am a software engineer who is reading the Encyclopedia Britannica cover to cover (slowly) while maintaining a blog describing topics I encounter. (I am omitting the link to it here because I assume that would not be allowed.)

As part of this experience I often end up reading articles by both Britannica and Wikipedia. I have contributed little to Wikipedia so far, but I hope to help out more whenever I encounter issues in my research.

I have also started work on an application that would assist others in reading Wikipedia in a way similar to the way that I am reading Britannica. Existing apps focus on using Wikipedia as a reference. I feel that the ability to read Britannica like a book is a use case that has been lost in the translation away from paper media. Perhaps it is a rare use case, but it is a real one, and I would like to help make it possible for Wikipedia.
