Brutal murder of Noel Calvin Thompson

The brutal murder of the beloved Noel Calvin Thompson, has touched the hearts of many all over the world. This incident took place on the night 31 March 2007, Keetmanshoop. A loving man missed by many, was born on 01 January 1966 in South Africa. He was an Electric engineer working at Telecom Namibia.Telecom

His wife called the police on the night of 31 March to escort Thompson form her home as he allegedly caused trouble there. Note that no charges were made against Thompson and she only asked them to take him home, however the officers on duty that night locked him up with one of the persecutors Charles Charles Vries and two other men. Police offers Gert Hendrik Galand ,Lodwika Galand and Hendrina Nghivelwa Police Officerswere the police officers on duty that night which are also charged with culpable homicide. A fight broke out in the cell in which Vries has beaten Thompson several times in self defense according to him. Thompson had allot of injuries with the major cause of his death being a ruptured liver. Thompson was then taken to hospital by the the police officers, when one of the nurses told them to leave Thompson to get medical treatment as he was very badly injured. Titsol however told the nurse that since he is under police custody he cannot be left for treatment. They then took him to his house, left him on the stoep where Thompson died. Ironically when they took him from his wife, he had the key to his house, his watch,shoes and trousers on, but when they dropped him of at his house Thompson had none of the mentioned possessions on him.

Titsol was found guilty on the charge of culpable homicide.While the other two police officers were found not guilty.Police Officer found Guilty Reason for this being he did not foresee that Thompson got proper treatment after he has been injured in jail, he failed to carry out a cell visit every 30 minutes as he is supposed to. In conclusion it makes one wonder, and cause a bit maybe allot of concern. The people who should protect the community and by all means try to do their job properly are the ones responsible for someone's death due to carelessness and negligence.
