edit

The COTA (College of the Arts) Youth Choir of Namibia recently took a trip to Cincinnati, Ohio to take part in the 2012 World Choir Games held every second year. This was the first time the choir took part in this competition, and they returned victoriously.

The dynamic young choir, under the leadership of Mr. Fanie Dorfling, claimed Olympic Gold at the competition held during July. The choir came third overall in the Folklore Category, receiving a Gold and received another Gold for their outstanding performance in the Mixed Youth Choir Category. Audiences and judges were amazed with their performances. The choir has a repertoire which includes Western music, both light and classical, Contemporary Choral Music and Traditional African and Namibian music.
