The Olufuko Festival[where?][when?][who?] is unique this is so because it focuses on the preservation of tradition, culture, agriculture and arts. The festival was held and reintroduced on the 21-27 August 2012 and it took place at Outapi which is the capital and administrative center of the Omusati Region Omusati Region. Olufuko is a womanly beginning, under which girls below the ages of twenty have to go through in order to become adults and women suitable for marriage, it is done by a female named Namunganga.

The three towns from Omusati that took part are namely Okahao, Oshikuku and Ruacana. The aim of the Olufuko festival is to draw people from all the parts of the country(Namibia) in order to expand the Omusati Region, make it a tourist destination, create awareness, teach and provide entertainment with the vision to value and boost customary and cultural recognition, establish tourism attraction, boost the purpose of unity, generate awareness in the region through cultural, arts and agricultural activities, maintain and uphold culture and tradition and toughen the local and the local and regional economy.
