Citrix is an American company that creates software for use on PCs and other devices to remotely connect to desktops, applications, and networks. The company's products and services are related to server, application, and desktop virtualization; networking; cloud; and Software as a Service (SaaS).[1][2] These products and services are used by approximately 330,000 organizations worldwide.[3]
Citrix has headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Santa Clara, California. Its other United States offices are in California and North Carolina.[4][5] Citrix research and development centers are located in the U.S., Australia, India, Japan, and the United Kingdom.[6]
The company's President and CEO is Mark Templeton and its COO and CFO is David Henshall.[1] The company has 10,081 employees as of February 2015.[7]
Citrix is organized into three units: Workspace Services, Delivery Network, and Mobility Apps.[8] Citrix licenses its services and products directly to clients, including IT professionals, SMEs, and through companies called value-added resellers that resell the products and services after adding additional features.[1]
Citrix is publicly traded under the ticker symbol CTXS.[2] The company's revenue in 2014 equaled US$3.14 billion, an increase from $2.91 billion in 2013 and $2.59 billion in 2012.[9][1] In 2014, the company ranked 741 on the Fortune 1000 and 1,793 on Forbes Global 2000.[10][2]
