The UK Singles Chart is one of many music charts compiled by the Official Charts Company that calculates the best-selling singles of the week in the United Kingdom.[1] Since 2004 the chart has been based on the sales of both physical singles and digital downloads, with airplay figures excluded from the official chart.[2][3] Since 2014, the singles chart has been based on both sales and streaming.

This list shows singles that peaked in the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart during 2015, as well as songs which peaked in 2014 and 2016 but were in the top 40 in 2015. The entry date is when the song appeared in the top 40 for the first time (week ending, as published by the Official Charts Company, which is six days after the chart is announced).

Two-hundred and sixty singles were in the top forty this year. One single from 2013 and forty-six singles from 2014 remained in the top 40 for several weeks at the beginning of the year, or re-entered during the year. "7/11" by Beyoncé, "Blame" by Calvin Harris featuring John Newman, "Changing" by Sigma featuring Paloma Faith, "Hold Back the River" by James Bay, "Take Me to Church" by "Hozier and "What I Did for Love" by David Guetta featuring Emeli Sande all first charted in 2014 but reached their peak in 2015.

Additionally, "Fairytale of New York" by The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl and "Last Christmas" by Wham! returned to the chart at the end of 2014 and rose to a higher position at the start of 2015, having peaked in previous years.

The list of singles that charted in 2015 but did not peak until 2016 include "Eyes Shut" by Years & Years, "Hair" by Little Mix featuring Sean Paul, "History" by One Direction, "Light It Up" by Major Lazer, Nyla & Fuse ODG, "Love Me Like You" by Little Mix, "Stitches" by Shawn Mendes, "Sugar" by Robin Schulz featuring Yates "The Girl Is Mine" by 99 Souls featuring Destiny's Child & Brandy and "When We Were Young" by Adele.

Eighty-seven artists had multiple entries in the top forty in 2015, with Justin Bieber having the most entries (9). Singles that reached the top ten this year are featured here but also included in their own article.
