History

edit

UnchainedTV was founded as Jane Unchained in November 2014 by Jane Velez-Mitchell, a veteran journalist,[16] New York Times bestselling author, and former CNN journalist,[17] where she hosted her show for 6 years on CNN Headline News/HLN. She previously worked as a reporter at the syndicated TV show Celebrity Justice and as an anchor/reporter at KCAL-TV in Los Angeles and WCBS-TV in New York City.

In 2022, Jane Unchained was officially rebranded as UnchainedTV. This transition signified the evolution of the platform from a specialized news network focused on veganism and animal rights into a more comprehensive streaming service. The revamped UnchainedTV now offers a wider array of content, including documentaries, cooking shows, and live news segments, aimed at promoting a plant-based lifestyle and addressing global challenges such as climate change and animal welfare.[18]

In 2024, UnchainedTV partnered with FAST Channels TV to launch the UnchainedTV Food & Lifestyle Channel, a FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channel. This collaboration expanded UnchainedTV's reach, allowing audiences worldwide to access content focused on plant-based living, health, and climate change. Russell Foy, CEO of FAST Channels TV, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting its potential to deliver unique and transformative content to a global audience.[19] UnchainedTV remains dedicated to providing free, nonprofit, plant-based streaming content, including documentaries, cooking shows, and live events, aimed at promoting a healthier, sustainable lifestyle.
