wikiproject template overlap edit

Can someone please explain to me how this is supposed to work. I see many articles tagged with this template showing up in WP:COMPSCI, but apparently it is not possible for me to assess such articles for WP:COMPSCI alone. The implied assumption is that an article of Top importance for WPDATABASE would necessarily also be of Top importance for WP:COMPSCI. I hope the problem with this assumption is obvious.

I understand there has recently been a push to bring together the many computing-related wikiprojects, but, as always, it is incomplete. In the meantime can someone give me some guidance regarding this template. Ideogram (talk) 12:22, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Databases#Restructure proposal. The current situation is not completely satisfactory, but is a work in progress... —Ruud 12:53, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
If I don't get a response in the next few days I'll be bold and start monkeying with the template. Ideogram (talk) 23:54, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
The proposals by Pnm are quite thoroughly thought through. Be bold, but not reckless, please. —Ruud 02:32, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
The proposals are great. The implementation is lacking. Ideogram (talk) 09:18, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Completely true, but I don't think that should be used as an excuse to start doing in a less careful way (also see meta:Eventualism). There is a rather detailed set of instructions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Databases#Option 2: Task force in computing and CS on what needs to be done if you care sufficiently to get this implemented. The proposal suggests using a bot, but these steps can be done manually if you're motivated enough. —Ruud 11:29, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
