Category edit

If I knew how to do it I'd have this template automatically place articles into Category:Articles with sections that are too long. Or something similar. -- œ 21:58, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trivial to do, though I'm not sure what our policy is on creating new cleanup categories. If you feel you want to go ahead with this, ping me and I'll get an implementation ready. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 17:20, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
The category name should be different; this is not about too long sections in general, but about too long see also sections, specifically. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:01, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
That category name came from the template's entry at Wikipedia:Template_messages/Cleanup#Structure_and_sections. I just noticed the redlink there and thought to fix it. -- œ 23:35, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Message parameter edit

May can be included a "|Message=" parameter, to suggest solutions (ie. in an article about applications, create a "similar applications" section, to reduce the see also section). --Lagoset (talk) 08:16, 9 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Revert of shortening change edit

I undid a recent change that substantially reduced the amount of context and guidance this tag provides. IMO it's not excessively long in the first place; would appreciate some rationale on why that was deemed to be the case. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 14:34, 17 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
