For Nigella Sativa's scientific classification, it only mentions the clade Eudicots, but does not mention the clade within it that it is part of: Basal Eudicots. If you look at the classification for Polygonaceae at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Taxonomy/Polygonaceae, you notice it mentions that it is part of Core Eudicots of the clade Eudicots. 160.179.230.206 (talk) 20:52, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

Basal eudicot is an informal name for a paraphyletic group
means it doesn't belong from my understanding of the way the taxonomy template system works. * Pppery * it has begun... 21:54, 14 May 2022 (UTC)

Parent taxon should be Dicotyledon. Atlas Þə Biologist (talk) 22:50, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- Not done: See the word "formerly" at Dicotyledon. If that does not convince you, please provide a recent reliable source. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:07, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
