Little football images

edit

While they're pretty cool and I'm sure there'd be a good use for them somewhere, I don't think this is it. It already says "Tries:" so the football next to each one seems to be going a little overboard as they don't really add anything. A conversion is also done with a ball, so nothing's really being communicated by them.--Jeff79 (talk) 01:35, 15 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

We could get make a golden version of the try icon and a golden boot icon and use them for golden points... LunarLander // talk // 19:48, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
That sounds like a good idea. Something differentiating the icons so that they actually communicate something would make them much more worthwhile I think.--Jeff79 (talk) 02:14, 26 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Coordination with Rugbyleaguebox

edit

Rugbyleaguebox (RLB) has been left behind a bit by the Rugbyleaguebox_collapsible version (RLBC), although Rugbyleaguebox_collapsible is only used on one page at the moment. We could probably do to have a discussion on coordinated development. There are several pieces of information that need to be discussed. The development also needs to be done in a way that doesn't disrupt current usage of Rugbyleaguebox.

The information I'm thinking of that needs to be evaluated is:

Sin bins, Sendings off

edit

Should they be included? How should they be displayed? See {{Sin bin}} for an idea of how it could look. LunarLander // talk // 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Symbols

edit

{{Sin bin}} just uses a blank yellow card and uses 10 minutes are the amount of time of the suspension. Rugby league has historical matches that used a five minute sin bin. Should we do something about that - what about a card with either a 10 or a 5 on it (e.g.   67' )? What do southern hemisphere people think to this as you don't really use cards ever? LunarLander // talk // 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Woman of the Match

edit

Currently both say 'Man'. A women's version should, I think, be included. We could do to find sources to see what term (e.g. Woman of the Match, Most valuable player) is most common in women's rugby league. LunarLander // talk // 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Video referees

edit

The referee controls the game but video refs have a major role, should they be included or would you then end up listing all the officials - should the option to list all officials be there? LunarLander // talk // 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

referee2

edit

The two referee system is used in the NRL now and possibly elsewhere later. I think it would be a good idea to include the second referee in its own field rather than use a break. It should also be quite easy to set some code up to add or omit 's' on the end of referee depending on whether the referee2 field is filled in. LunarLander // talk // 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Stadium/Location

edit

For these 2 pieces of information, two fields are used in the collapsible template and one field in non-collapsible. I think it should be two in both. LunarLander // talk // 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agreed.--Jeff79 (talk) 02:14, 26 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Golden point / extra time "bar"

edit

I was thinking perhaps add an extra-time bar/strip/area at the bottom that notes length of extra time, scorer(s), cards? Have a look at how penalty shootouts are are the bottom of {{Footballbox}}. LunarLander // talk // 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

points1/2 fields

edit

Propose leaving them in as 'grandfathered' fields because of their wide use in articles but to add 'tries1/2', 'goals1/2', 'drops1/2' to replace them. The advantage would be less time spent typing titles: '''Tries:'''. We could even go one step further and have an entry field for each scorer 'tries1-t1', 'tries1-t2'. That might be more fiddly but that could cut out manually inserting breaks and be better for blind users. LunarLander // talk // 19:48, 24 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

background colours for wins/loss/draw

edit

if adding the RLBC to team page for season, i think a result bar should be added where it automatically changes the background colour to match a win/loss/draw in the same way the football collapsible box does for football (soccer). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eccy89 (talkcontribs) 13:18, 2 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rounds

edit

i think the box should contain a section so you can tell what round the match to place for easy reference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eccy89 (talkcontribs) 13:48, 2 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you are using for season article, there is an extension of this template with a slightly different style for season articles. See {{Rugbyleaguebox collapsible/season}}
