Possible future development edit

  • Set a minimum width for the template, or each column in use.
  • A option to link to a page of squad lists from a competition.
  • Assistant coach role fields for small bracketed text e.g. "Name (Defence)"
  • Reach a consensus on which roles should be included for assistant coaches - for example: should conditioners be included?
  • Include an optional symbol for SL and Champ clubs using dual registration LunarLander // talk // 17:17, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Flags/no flags? edit

What's occurring with the flag situation in this template? I thought it was agreed that they weren't to appear, but I've noticed no less that three examples that do include them. Have I missed something?

Which articles are they in? I think manual removal in each one is the only way to stop it. Without significant changes, it will be possible for people to add flags to the template somehow. LunarLander // talk // 21:27, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've seen them in most Super League articles now, as well as Brisbane's.

I RV'd a couple about two weeks back, one was on the Widnes Vikings page. They were putting the flagicons directly into the names field. They are banned (sorry... "discouraged") from articles about sportspeople, and are definitely not allowed in a non-sporting way, so feel free to RV where you see them. GW(talk) 23:19, 10 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Use of bold edit

Following on my from my recent edits [1][2] and their reversions [3][4] by Flickerd ...

I propose that bold formatting should not be used in:

  • (c) Captain
  • (vc) Vice captain

because it is contrary to MOS:BOLD which specifies that "Boldface ... is ... only for certain usages", and this usage is not one of them. Mitch Ames (talk) 13:27, 31 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Of course the same applies to the use of bold formatting for squadname, column titles, list titles etc. Where appropriate table formatting, using "!" instead of "|" should apply the formatting, else the text probably ought not be bold at all. Mitch Ames (talk) 13:33, 31 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

In the absence of any response, I've removed the bold formatting: [5][6][7]. Mitch Ames (talk) 01:06, 11 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Likewise, italics, per MOS:ITALICS: [8]. Mitch Ames (talk) 01:11, 11 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nationalities edit

Can't find anywhere here that indicates that flags should or should not be used for rls. I have found another editor to be quite insistent, so just looking to gauge opinion.Fleets (talk) 11:22, 21 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Mobile appearance edit

Please address how this template appears on mobile. The headings merge together and are indistinct, and overlap the edit links. Its usability and probably accessibility are pretty poor. Hairy Dude (talk) 12:42, 29 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
