Template talk:Reliable medical sources please

New template

I see a lot of editors who add stuff without any references. I plan to use this as a quick way to provide instructive information.--Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 10:35, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Very useful, James. But don't forget to substitute the template: {{subst:RSPlease}} when using it on a user talk page; otherwise, the next editor who hits the [edit] link to comment in that section ends up editing the template! Cheers --RexxS (talk) 23:35, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Rename?

RSPlease is a bit generic for this specific template. "Reliable Source Please" doesn't indicate anything about the medical world.

The people who use it know what it means and at this point there is no conflict with the names of other templates. We can of course change things should some naming conflict arise. Jytdog (talk) 17:34, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

Including how to cite

Can we please have two versions of this, one with the citation instructions and one without? I just used this after I reverted a person who was very painstaking in doing the citation correctly -- but cited non-MEDRS sources -- and using this made me look like an ass. Would not have used it if I had known it had changed to include citation instructions. There are times when that would be very helpful, tho. So both would be better. Doc James I believe so, yes. Should we update the instructions?
