Template talk:R from journal

"Journal" or "Journal article"?

edit

The text of this template refers to a "journal article", ie a paper in a journal, perhaps a single scientific breakthrough. I think this is confusing. The redirects in Category:Redirects from journals are all titles of journals, as you would expect, rather than individual "journal articles".

Could we amend this template to clarify it?

At present it displays:

This is a redirect from a trade or professional journal article to a more general, relevant Wikipedia article, such as the author or publisher of the article or to the title in an alternative language.
Journal articles should only have an individual article when they meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines and there is enough material to warrant a detailed article.

I suggest we should modify this to (my changes bolded):

This is a redirect from a trade or professional journal title to a more general, relevant Wikipedia article, such as the author or publisher of the journal or to the title in an alternative language.
(Or, more simply, just omit "article" or "title": This is a redirect from a trade or professional journal to a more general, relevant Wikipedia article...
Journals should only have an individual article when they meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines and there is enough material to warrant a detailed article.

Any thoughts? I'll mention this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Academic Journals, as the venue for folk interested in journals. PamD 10:07, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Why not let it be a redirect for both? --awkwafaba (📥) 13:08, 10 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
