Properties owned or leased by PANYNJ

edit

In the real world, property owned or leased by PANYNJ is important. That articles for part of the agency's mission/activities do not exist in Wikipedia is not a reason for non-inclusion in a navigation template, since the encyclopedia should strive to be complete. Accordingly added. The choice to red link them is debatable. References:

Passenger ports

edit

Why are ports such as the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, Cape Liberty Cruise Port and other passenger-related ports excluded from the seaports section of the navbox? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 12:53, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Well, there's only the three cruise terminals that really count as passenger ports. But, add them. There's no reason not to as long as they're actually Port Authority facilities. I don't think the Manhattan Cruise Terminal actually is a PANYNJ facility. oknazevad (talk) 13:55, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
No, sadly it isn't. But what's the third one? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 15:35, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
FYI, Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and Manhattan Cruise Terminal are both connected to the "NYCruise" website, which convinces me they're owned by the same company -- neither of which are connected to the Port Authority. In fact their website says " NYCruise is managed by NYCEDC" at the bottom. Cape Liberty has it's own website, which also has no connection to PANYNJ. I'm starting to wonder if I made a big mistake. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 16:52, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
By the three I meant Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Bayonne. From what I can gather Bayonne is owned by the PANYNJ, who hire their own contract operator, while Brooklyn is owned by the PA, but leased to the city, so that they can have a joint contract with the operations of the Manhattan terminal, which the city owns outright. oknazevad (talk) 17:07, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Key staff? needed?

edit

The Category:Port Authority of New York and New Jersey people is quite populated, so the random addition of some names to the template seems arbitrary. Was there criteria for inclusion? Even limited addition say of chairpersons and/or executive directors would overwhelm the facilities/projects navbox. Not sure there's a PANYNJ people nav-box needed, but would not opppose it. • You are better at this than me. I defer to you. I appreciate your knowledge. Hope you enjoy your day. But to share, my criteria was important folks from my studies like Austin tobin, etc, and then just inform people that there are individuals not just rail beds, buildings, docks, etc. it has to be run by quality people, but i agree it has too much information already.
