Template talk:Nn-userfy
I created this template in response to concerns about the current tendency to WP:BITE newbies. Previously, trivial autobiographies wopuld have been posted by anon IPs and nobody would care because an IP has no face. Now that can't happen, these are created by real people. Some get set right at articles for creation, others make an account and carry on regardless. We want them to keep working on the project, so I think it's best if we don't start off by deleting their user page, since we must assume that's wjat they were trying to do. - Just zis Guy, you know? Wording change edit
I've changed the wording on this slightly so that it also accounts for articles that blatantly would be deleted under A7, but aren't yet tagged, i.e. ones found in special:newpages. I tend to userfy these on sight if it's clear they're written as autobiographies. If anyone disagrees, feel free to revert and discuss. - Zeibura (Talk) 00:15, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Wording change in favor of newcomers edit
(02/2010) Nothing changed technically, but repackaged the contents and wording into lingo somewhat more newcomer-friendly and encouraging, having sounded still somewhat legalese and WP:CRYPTIC before.
Yes it is a bit longer that way but I think it's worth it.
