Template talk:Major railway stations in Britain/FAQ

Q: What makes a British railway station major?
A: There are several reasons why a station may be included. We include the following:
  • All London terminals
  • The major stations in other large cities (Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow)
  • Secondary stations in the above cities
  • Major regional hubs (Crewe, Doncaster, York)

High patronage is not the only factor, since railway usage in the United Kingdom is strongly concentrated around London. Some major commuter stations like Guildford, Chelmsford and Woking have passenger usage comparable stations in major cities like Newcastle, Bristol and Nottingham.
