Control cities in another state

What do you do about control cities in another state? For instance, Interstate 240 (Oklahoma) has an eastbound control cities of Ft Smith, AR - can jct handle this? —Scott5114 17:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I just added a bit in the directions, at present, it doesn't support this, what I have done is put it following the template, for example:   I-35Oklahoma City, Dallas Holderca1 19:05, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Problem with template

Some of recent changes have created errors and I am not sure how to go about fixing them. See the exit list at Florida State Road 589, more specifically the links to county roads. It is creating links to County Road 576 (Florida) (Hillsborough County, Florida) instead of County Road 576 (Hillsborough County, Florida). I have been trying to fix it, but fixing it will create problems with other recent changes, specifically the dab feature that was added. --Holderca1 15:30, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I fixed the problem, the only problem now is that links need to be created for the link name of a specific county. Not that this doesn't need to be accomplished at some point anyway for infobox browsing. --Holderca1 19:21, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Template incorrect

This template uses commas to separate roads; however, based on the examples at WP:ELG, they are to be separated by slashes. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 15:48, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

It also seems like this template lacks the ability to disambiguate between a city and a town with the same name. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 01:41, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
That's true; in those cases you can simply remove the place from the template and add it using a normal link. --NE2 02:29, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
The example using Pittsford should be modified then, as Pittsford is a dab page. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 02:46, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
The examples on WP:ELP are also pointing to the dab page, but as NE2 states, those instances should be brought outside the template, just as destinations outside the state are. --Holderca1 20:00, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
That can easily be changed, though I'm not sure that a slash necessarily makes more sense. --NE2 02:29, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
A slash is what's currently being used in many places that don't use this template. As for easily changed, I'd change it myself but I don't have a clue as to what part of the code needs to be altered. This is by far the most complicated template I've ever seen. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 02:46, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure template:infobox road is more complicated; anyway, a slash implies to me that the routes are overlapped, while a comma just lists what's there. Is this reasonable? --NE2 02:49, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
But it's not consistent with how it's used on pages not using this template. Besides, I believe this is more a matter for WT:ELG to decide if you believe it should be a comma. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 11:52, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Garden State Parkway Shield

It might be in the interest of the template makers that there is a newer, cleaner version of the Garden State Parkway shield for the New Jersey template. Would someone be so kind as to make "GSP" references point to File:GSPkwy Shield.png Image:GSPkwy Shield.png? This way, we can perhaps set about retiring the old shield.--WhosAsking 13:39, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

  • This can be disregarded. I managed to locate the piece of the template in question myself and made the necessary change. --WhosAsking 09:10, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

County roads

Articles for Interstate 80 in Iowa, Interstate 35 in Iowa and Interstate 35 in Minnesota have been redlinking county roads despite their non-notability after the use of the Jct template. I'm just wondering if there is a way to fix this? DandyDan2007 08:04, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

You will want to use the nolink parameter. Just put nolink1=nolink in the code and that should delink the redlink. (Note: change the number for the order the road falls in the code, if it is the second road it should be nolink2=nolink) You should only use this to delink roads that shouldn't have an article, not to avoid redlinks. There is also a noshield parameter as well that functions in the same way for roads without a shield. --Holderca1 18:08, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Jct/doc expansion

I would like to have every input paramter possible listed out to help out users of the template, if you know of any, please add them. --Holderca1 18:02, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Template causing overlapping columns

I used this template in Wisconsin Highway 29 and at Exit 227, the text created by the template overlapped into the next column - any thoughts as to why this would happen? master sonT - C 17:00, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Looks like a glitch in how the non-breaking space thing is handled. I see the error as well on a 1280x1024 resolution screen; however, I don't know enough about the template to make changes to try to fix it. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 06:42, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm, could be {{nowrap}} causing the problem. I know NE2 worked extensively with that part of the template, he may have some ideas. --Holderca1 talk 16:54, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I noticed that; unfortunately it's a browser glitch, and I don't know how to fix it while following Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#Non-breaking spaces, which seems to be commonly cited at FA. --NE2 17:23, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I put in a band-aid for the moment - switching around the WIS 29 Business and CTH K positions to make it work. It may have to stay this way if we don't have enough occurrences to justify a fix - and since there are MOS and FA issues - it really isn't worth pursuing anyway without endangering our current FAs.  — master sonT - C 18:29, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Heh, what doesn't make sense is that it (the revision without the swap) displays correctly in IE but not in Firefox. Usually it's the other way around... --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 18:38, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
