Translating this template edit

This is a wonderful little template. Thank-you to whoever created it. It is used on the Sine page on this (english) wiki and it makes the function wonderfully clear. To translate it requires a few tweaks that took a while to solve. You (a) need to create the template on your wiki and translate the headings, create the help and docs and then (b) you will need to create several pages on your wikipedia both to test it and for the explanation left-column links. If you need any help with this, feel free to contact me. Lfahlberg (talk) 14:25, 16 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Completing this template edit

Hi there,

What is your opinion about this Infobox?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Hooman_Mallahzadeh/sandbox

It was created from this template:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_mathematics_function/sandbox2

Can I replace the existing old template code by this one? Thanks, Hooman Mallahzadeh (talk) 05:37, 10 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Pengo, Bellezzasolo, and Sardanaphalus: Any idea? Hooman Mallahzadeh (talk) 16:38, 20 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Hooman Mallahzadeh: Hi, I created the template originally for the Sine article, largely a copy-paste from here (Serbian?). I'm not sure what changes you are proposing exactly. Adding some more fields? Personally I have no problem with it as long as it doesn't mess up existing pages which use this template (I think only Sine and Markov constant currently). I'm not heavily involved with mathematics though, so hopefully some others can weigh in. But as this template is not heavily used, it's not a big deal to make any changes you feel are useful. —Pengo 00:33, 21 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hooman Mallahzadeh, fine by me, although the only changes I've made have been pretty minor. Bellezzasolo Discuss 18:33, 21 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Bellezzasolo and Pengo: Thanks. Changes applied, please check the article "Sine", Hooman Mallahzadeh (talk) 07:18, 22 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Different Gamma Image edit

I would like to suggest replacing the gamma image with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Absolute_argument_plot_of_the_gamma_function_from_z%3D-4_to_7_created_in_Mathematica_13.1.svg.

The current image for the gamma function's caption doesn't make much sense:

Plot of the Gamma function . The plot was produced running Gnuplot on the following code: set terminal svg set output "Gamma_plot.svg" set title "Gamma function" set xrange [-10:10] set yrange [-10:10] set key off set xzeroaxis linetype -1 linewidth 0.5 set yzeroaxis linetype -1 linewidth 0.5 set xtics axis set ytics axis plot "gamma.dat" using 1:2 with lines linewidth 2 the file "gamma.dat" contains the values of the Gamma function and can be produced with the following Matlab commands (it is meant to work in Octave, too, but it returns an error in version 2.1.64): t = -5:0.01:5; G = [ t; gamma(t) ]; G = G'; save -ascii "gamma.dat" G; it was then post-processed with Sodipodi.

I think the file I created has a caption that is clearer and easier to understand. WalkingRadiance (talk) 13:43, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
