Needs improvement edit

As an outsider to the boxing wikiproject, having just reviewed an article using this infobox for GA status I believe this template needs some work done on it. The intention of the infobox is to provide a summary of facts about the fight. It should give the outcome, location it was held, attendance, officials/judges and possibly things like scorecards, ring announcer and TV network. Something like Template:Infobox SuperBowl. Reach edit

Reach is typically given in Tale of the Tape and is missing. Should be added (inches). Damon Mah (talk) 13:33, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

I second this request—it should go below weight. I would try adding it myself, but I once broke this template by making a small edit. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 11:35, 2 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Centred image edit

The poster image is never centred, and looks jarring. Any idea on how to centre it? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 02:15, 22 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Never mind. Adding [[|center]] to the filename did the job. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 16:38, 22 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Tale of the tape edit

Please add an explanation about "Tale of the tape/ --5.170.1.201 (talk) 00:07, 11 June 2016 (UTC)"Reply

Indeed -- what does this mean? Stevie is the man! TalkWork 13:19, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Fighter ages edit

In looking at the upcoming Tyson-Jones fight box, the fighters ages would have been informative. Not sure if changing this infobox is allowed or not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.25.58.172 (talk) 02:36, 18 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Should the age of each fighter be added in the infobox, in the typical style |age1=|age2= ? -The Gnome (talk) 15:41, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. Age is a significant factor in boxing matches, as in most professional or amateur sports duels. The infobox already contains information about weight and height. Material supporting the significance of a fighter's age are plentiful both offline and online, a small sample of which is provided in the reference section. The routine mentions of fighters' age in boxing repors are simply too numerous.[1][2][3][4][5] -The Gnome (talk) 15:41, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Per The Gnome's comment above. --Tbf69 15:47, 8 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support based on tales of the tape seen on TV broadcasts. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:36, 8 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
