Code and doc edit

This page (i.e. the template code, and the explanation of how to use it) was all copied and adapted from Template:Infobox Buddhist temple. I'm afraid that while I may know enough about coding to copy from something and adapt it, I don't really know how to do anything new, or how to fix problems that are caused by more than just a typo or the like. If anyone with actual coding knowledge is interested in doing so, please fix things up as needed. LordAmeth (talk) 09:19, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Documentation moved to subpage as is standard, allowing edit of template to be split from work on the documentation
Address and phone number seem promotional to me (WP:NOT#Directory), and generally avoided in other templates - perhaps have a "location " parameter which defines area rather than precise address to write to !
I'll come back to this template markup later (after dinner), but for now my Internet Explorer not purging my copy correctly for me to gauge my edits, sorry. :-) David Ruben Talk 19:00, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Optional display of rows if parameters not defined completed. I've simplified (IMHO) the code for the image calling (tidied up parameter names hence "width" is the "image" width rather than "size"). David Ruben Talk 23:49, 25 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've gone through all articles that call this infobox and adjusted their calling for the simpler image parameters. David Ruben Talk 00:25, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Questionnaire edit

This's really one of nicest I've ever seen, but I don't know which point to begin when trying make it available in Vietnamese wiki Hanzo2050 (talk) 10:19, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Template Color edit

I reverted the template color back to the red from the beige. The beige was just to blah of a color for how vibrant many Shinto shrines are. I'm not that attached to the current red though, so if anyone has a problem with that, feel free to try new colors! --TorsodogTalk 21:28, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Glossary of Shinto link edit

<copied from my talk page as sets out request for most recent edit> I have written a glossary of Shinto terms and would like to add a link to it at the bottom of the template. Tried to do it myself, but couldn't. Can you help? Thanks in advance. urashimataro (talk) 06:53, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sure, show me the glossary of terms link. Also should the link be at the bottom vs the top, or perhaps not at all and instead be something linked-to from the main article of shinto shrine ? David Ruben Talk 14:49, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi. Thanks for the prompt reply and the help. I will finish today the article, then send you the link. I would like the link to be at the bottom of the template, where the link to the defunct Shinto portal used to be. I will see how you do it and will try to learn, because it's an operation I will have to do again in the future.
Ok - I'll await your providing the link David Ruben Talk 13:58, 29 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi. The article has been posted under the name Glossary of Shinto. Many thanks for your help. urashimataro (talk) 00:45, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Done but colour/icon can be changed etc. David Ruben Talk 00:57, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

As an alternative have you considered merely appending on the sidebar {{Shinto2}} ? although that template is badly named - see my comment at {{Shinto2}} (talk). David Ruben Talk 01:25, 30 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Map edit

As per (incipient discussion?) at Template_talk:Infobox_Buddhist_temple#Map, if you look at Mount Omoto there is a map as well as an image; are | map / | location parameters that might be usefully included here? (See Template:Infobox mountain), Maculosae tegmine lyncis (talk) 13:58, 15 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
