2 new fields required for the Template

Two parameters should be added. When a seat is split or reformed, we do not have basic parameters to navigate to it's predecessor and successor. For Example, Chepauk (state assembly constituency) and Triplicane (state assembly constituency) were merged and reformed as Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni (State Assembly Constituency). Some reference should be there in Page Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni (State Assembly Constituency) where preceding Constituency name should be named as Chepauk (state assembly constituency) and Triplicane (state assembly constituency). In both Chepauk (state assembly constituency) and Triplicane (state assembly constituency) Pages, succeeding Page should be navigated to Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni (State Assembly Constituency). -Vijethnbharadwaj (talk) 06:49, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

This template does not work

For reasons unknown to me. See this diff where the Template:Infobox Vidhan Sabha constituency worked like a charm and this failed. @MPGuy2824, can you please check the diff.

"Infobox Indian state legislative assembly constituency" is a mess. Template:Infobox Vidhan Sabha constituency should not be deleted until the bugs on this infobox are resolved. The Template:Infobox state assembly constituency seems to be a better choice for the final merged template, for the purpose of brevity. --Venkat TL (talk) 12:36, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

• Puducherry is a union territory and has a legislative assembly. For those constituencies, Union Territory = Puducherry should be shown instead of State = Puducherry. -MPGuy2824 (talk)

  @MPGuy2824 I believe it is the only one. It can have its separate infobox, instead of adding another parameter that adds to every infobox. Venkat TL (talk) 08:51, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

  @MPGuy2824, everything has a cost. That few lines of code will add unnecessary processing time in rendering for thousands of Indian constituency what for? for Puducherry. Hiding Current MLA section for abolished constituencies

Merger of this Infobox with Infobox Lok Sabha Constituency

As per the result of the discussion, this template is going to merge with Template:Infobox Lok Sabha Constituency. A new proposed version is provided in the ,sandbox.
