KBTX and "significantly viewed" stations edit

KBTX is on the FCC's list [1] of "significantly viewed stations" only for Washington, Grimes, Walker and Trinity counties in the Houston market. Since it's not on the list for the immediate area, does it belong in this template? -- Gridlock Joe 02:39, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

In my opinion, if it actively serves or covers any part of the Houston market, it should belong there, even though it is not actually licensed in the Houston market. -- azumanga 04:31, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
But do we want to open the "slippery slope" to listing every station in adjacent markets that spills over? What would you think about a "See also" linking to templates of adjoining markets, as in Template:Baton Rouge TV? -- Gridlock Joe 14:03, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
When I list significants in other templates, the rule of thumb I generally use is cable coverage (using tvguide.com and a market map as a guide). Many market templates are also doing what the BR template is doing; though it's much cleaner, there are some who actually disapprove of this -- last year, I did a few templates this way, only to have the bottom bar removed. It's a Catch 22 kind of thing, I guess. -- azumanga 01:10, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I whipped up a sample of what the Houston template would look like. -- Gridlock Joe 01:31, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
First, I'd increase the fonts -- they look too small. Secondly -- I'd strike Beaumont - Port Arthur -- according to the coverage areas of those stations on the FCC database, they barely cover far eastern Chambers County, the easternmost county in the Houston market. -- azumanga 05:14, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I like the use of out-of-market stations in the Baton Rouge template. I think it should be changed to something like that as per Gridlock Joe's idea. —Some Person (talk) 03:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

KPXB-DT edit

I made it up to the North Freeway Fry's and watched KPXB-DT earlier today. (I can't get it on the SW side.) Looks like KPXB is showing the whole Ion multicast; I've added Worship to the template. -- Gridlock Joe 22:14, 25 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

They are, I get KPXB-DT at home. Strange that you can't get it; I am also on the SW side. —Some Person (talk) 03:49, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Includeonly edit

Shouldn't we find a way to toggle the includeonly between "Television stations in Houston, Texas" and "former television stations in Houston, Texas"? WhisperToMe (talk) 21:27, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Channel 18, Houston edit

Would there ever be a channel 18 in Houston? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.89.189.99 (talk) 01:15, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Does it matter? —70.240.71.112 (talk) 18:45, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I just saw that KNWS was move out of the Westpark Drive location, now KIPP is located were 51 was, wow that leaves us with KHTV. If 39 moves away, Westpark will be history, just like Kirby Drive, remember 20 and 45. Maybe, the same thing will happen, KTXH moved out of Kirby in 02’, while KXLN remained on Kirby until 06’ as of the purchase of the building in 04’. I’ll pray about it, in Jesus name, amen. I wish that Houston channel 39, will move away. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.91.100.211 (talk) 01:32, 2 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dividing stations by language edit

A large number of subchannels are broadcast in languages different to that of the main channel. To that end, I propose that it is no longer feasible to break the stations into groups by language.

Therefore, I'm proposing that the stations be divided into full power and low power stations, and not by content.

I've whipped up a test here for your consideration.

I'd like to hear your opinions.-- Gridlock Joe (talk) 16:53, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, I see some anon user has decided to implement this. Thanks, I suppose. -- Gridlock Joe (talk) 12:00, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

61:3 edit

I saw that they added a verse 3 of this channel on RF 36, hopefully it will simcast, 67, why 45 has 67, when it should be 20, and 67 has 45, when it should be 61. Azteca America will be on 4 station 14, 26, 39, 51, as my times table, I'm waiting on Houston channel 30, as well as 18, now since 21, and 46, are there, 43 is there but not 18. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.90.226.126 (talk) 01:57, 12 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

KQHO edit

  • The application cited in the edit listed for KQHO says nothing about moving to 31. The station had an earlier application for channel 29, but that application was dismissed.
  • LPTV stations can operate out of core. KQHO had been asked by Verizon to vacate 56, but found no suitable frequency.
  • And for the last time, KLTJ and KXLN are not part of the Mobile DTV Alliance.

Subchannel changes Chrisipedi (talk) 00:32, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:38, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Corrections edit

I recently made a large number of corrections here, but there are some stations I can't receive from my location. Can anyone check what these are broadcasting?
