Prime Minister's Cup, Atatürk Cup and Güneş rivalry

edit

First of all, the Prime Minister's Cup and Atatürk Cup are official top-level titles, so they belong into this template. Secondly, the rivalry between Galatasaray and Güneş (as short-lived as it may be) was a quite notable and fierce one, as it even was carried out off the field. (For instance both clubs even competed for the ownership of the Taksim Stadium, among others.) The rivalry, and the historic result itself, are well documented and sourced. The result is the highest defeat of Galatasaray in official domestic competitions in their history, as well as the highest score between both rivals. Two major sources:

  • Yüce, Mehmet (2015). İdmancı Ruhlar: Futbol Tarihimizin Klasik Devreleri: 1923-1952 Türkiye Futbol Tarihi (in Turkish). Vol. 2. Istanbul: İletişim Yayınları. pp. 352–354. ISBN 9789750516955. {{cite book}}: Invalid |ref=harv (help)

So please refrain from deleting relevant sourced content. Thanks. Akocsg (talk) 18:16, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

The Copa Eva Duarte is not listed at the Template:Real Madrid C.F. matches or Template:FC Barcelona matches. Small and defunct compettions like the Prime Minister's Cup and Atatürk Cup should'nt be listed.

Some years ago the the Galatasaray S.K. 9–2 Beşiktaş J.K. match was deleted. There have been just 9 matches between Galatasaray abd Günes. It started as a rivalry of brothers, but after Günes SK closure the trophies they've won were given to the Galatasaray museum.. 1886kusagi (talk) 20:19, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

That's not what is stated in the sources at all. On the contrary, in the book of Mehmet Yüce for example, who is one of the most resourceful and reliable authorities concerning Turkish football (especially early decades), it is stated and cited how both clubs had a notable rivalry on and off the field. Just a quote from his book on page 304:
"01 Nisan 1934 Pazar, Taksim Stadyumu, Istanbul; Zeki Rıza Bey'in Taksim Stadyumu hissesini Ateş-Güneş aldı. Şeref Bey'in hissesini ise Galatasaray aldı. Böylece Taksim Stadyumu'nun 3/4 hissesi Galatasaray, 1/4 hissesi ise Ateş-Güneş'in oldu. Görüldüğü üzere her mevkide ve olayda bu iki kulüp rekabet halinde..."
And just one line above that quote in the book:
"Ocak 1934, Ateş-Güneş Lokali, Sıraselviler; Ateş-Güneş kurulduktan sonra Olimpiyat Mecmuası ile Fenerbahçe Kulübü arasındaki ilişkiler samimileşti. Ayrıca lokalde Fenerli sporcular için ayrı bir kat hizmete girdi."
They even had good relations with Fenerbahçe, the arch-rivals of Galatasaray. There is nothing to find about a "brotherhood" there. Please provide a reliable source for your claims. Anything else is just POV and WP:IDONTLIKEIT.
And about the Prime Minister's and Atatürk Cup, there are no "small" competitions, as long as they are official and top-level. Being defunct does not matter at all, as for example many countries have defunct league cups. That doesn't mean that they are left out and ignored. The early Prime Minister's Cup and 2000 Atatürk Cup are Turkish super cups. That doesn't make them "small", which is pure POV anyway. And WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is no argument. Güneş have no own page about a rivalry (yet), that's why their result can't be summarized like the derby results with Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe. So please stop deleting sourced content again, or you will breake the 3RR rule. Akocsg (talk) 21:13, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Günes was founded by Galatasaray members. Therefore i wrote brotherhood. Many board members came back to Galatasaray. As i said even the 9-2 Besiktas was deleted. So i don't think that this article will stay. BTW Mehmet Yüce is / was also a consultant for the mackolik.com website. One of the reasons the website had a big archive of matches beeing played before 1959. 1886kusagi (talk) 21:53, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Again, read the sources. It seems you don't really even know what you are talking about. They were founded by ex-Galatasaray members. That's the whole point. Read their history...
I don't know if "many" officials and members returned to Galatasaray (source?), but that doesn't change the facts anyway. About Mehmet Yüce, that may be true. What has that to do with the topic? Akocsg (talk) 22:12, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

One of the most famous members and founders of Günes was Yusuf Ziya Öniş who returned back to Galatasaray when Günes was closed. According to Melih Şabanoğlu, Galatasaray historian and works at the Galatasaray museum, the cup's of Günes SK were brought to the Galatasaray museum. About Mehmet Yüce i was curious about the informations he wrote for the Istanbul Futbol Lig. At mackolik he gave a different information. 1886kusagi (talk) 22:21, 7 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

So what if he returned? What does that change? And what does the Istanbul League have to do with the topic? I don't really understand what you are trying to say. Akocsg (talk) 18:10, 8 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

As i said it was a shirt rivalry between „brothers“ and most of them returned to Galatasaray SK. Therefore i still think that this article will be deleted. You did not accept the Istanbul Lig results at mackolik as a serious source although Mehmet Yuce was behind it. 1886kusagi (talk) 08:55, 9 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Most of whom? Can you provide sources for your claims? And they were not "brothers". What does that mean actually anyway?
About the Istanbul League, I guess you mean the 1914-15 season. It's missing at mackolik.com. That's a fact. What about it? Akocsg (talk) 21:24, 9 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

FIFA Club World Cup

edit

The FIFA Club World Cup is not a single game, it is a tournament. Therefore it doesn't belong into this template. So please stop adding it. Regards, Akocsg (talk) 18:07, 2 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
