No genres of Electronic art music are presented (just a link to, despite eight popular styles), making this Template:Popular electronic music. Hyacinth 19:55, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I am going to definitely change this horrible, inconsistent and pretentious template. Brian Wilson 11:10, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Adding Indietronica

edit

there's a new genre of Electronic music popping up being called Indietronica. Should we possibly add this to the footer? --Threatis 20:32, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Eurodance

edit

eurodance should be removed its not a genre its a subgenre. it should be replaced with either Disco or Hi-nrg —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zenithsonzai (talkcontribs) 03:33, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's pretty subjective whether something is a genre or subgenre. I would say that eurodance is large enough, and has been around long enough, to be a genre in its own right. You wouldn't add disco to the template because not all disco music is electronic. Most hi-nrg is electronic, however, hi-nrg isn't as recognizable as a genre name compared to eurodance. Problem: Ambient

edit

Ambient music is clearly not dance music. It is however included here directly by inclusion of Template:Electronic music navbox (which says nothing about dance).

Possible solutions:

  • remove Ambient from that list
  • expand this template as a more general electronic music template (including electronic art music, etc.)
  • detach this template from the sub-template, making it into a separate list of dance genres

Can someone knowledgeable about the current usage of the templates suggest which would be best? I'm leaning on #3 currently. --Trɔpʏliʊmblah 12:22, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
