Template talk:Editnotices/Page/Quintuple meter

Quintuple meter and septuple meter have both continually had a problem with users adding unsourced entries. Ionmars10 (talk) 20:20, 24 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ionmars10, This seems a very offputting editnotice. It comes across as more severe than the editnotices listed in {{Editnotice templates}}, even those which deal with the wiki's most problematic edits.
A more restrained & general purpose editnotice along the lines of "Personal experience is no replacement for reliable, verifiable, independent sources. Relying on your own experience counts as original research and is not allowed on Wikipedia. If a reliable source cannot be found for an edit, it will be removed.", without the crisis colouring, would be more useful to the wiki as a whole.
Just my 2¢. Cabayi (talk) 12:58, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. Sounds like there are some concerns with the wording. Find a good middle ground and re-open. Primefac (talk) 15:08, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
