Template talk:Editnotices/Page/List of banks and credit unions in Canada

Template-protected edit request on 25 January 2020 edit

Editors, unfamiliar with Wikipedia Lists as navigational aids to link together similar-themed content, have been adding unlinked non-notable Canadian banks and credit unions at List of banks and credit unions in Canada. I noticed that we have a standard, proforma template editnotice in Template:Editnotice for lists of companies and organizations that would be just perfect at reminding editors the purpose of lists. Can a template editor or administrator kindly add this editnotice to the above-captioned list page to help promote uniformity in terms of the purpose of this list?

Thanks,

I see no evidence of any edits to this page that were reverted because they were adding links to pages that don't exist, and am therefore disinclined to add this edit notice. * Pppery * it has begun... 21:14, 25 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Pppery, Okay, fair enough. I'll work on cleaning up the list article to include only bluelinks, with some allowance for redlinks for potentially notable Canadian banks or credit unions, and add wikicomment instructions. If that doesn't work, can I initiate a new request? Doug Mehus T·C 21:16, 25 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
If people start adding redlinks, and those edits start getting reverted, then I would say yes. * Pppery * it has begun... 21:19, 25 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Pppery, Okay, fair enough. That works for me. Thanks for clarifying! Doug Mehus T·C 21:22, 25 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
