Formatting error edit

This template is currently colliding with article titles. It happens when the title is long or your window is narrow. I think it got broken by a change in the advertising banner.  Randall Bart   Talk  07:00, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Placement of template in Firefox edit

Using Firefox 2.0.0.9 in XP, the template is displayed in the top right corner of articles with the line at the top of the article (the one underneath the article title and the "From Wikipedia" tagline) going directly through the template text and graphic. It appears to be a CSS issue. As both the template and Firefox appear to be in widespread use, this needs to be fixed. --ElKevbo (talk) 15:17, 24 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

It is due to CSS absolute placement of the title coord. The line is being moved around by various messages being added to the top of pages (such as the current fundraising messages). This was discussed someplace else when the fundraising messages appeared, although I don't recall where. (SEWilco (talk) 06:31, 25 November 2007 (UTC))Reply
It's still broken in IE 6 as well.  Randall Bart   Talk  02:38, 28 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Title coordinates are currently largely useless due to this. I never even noticed them for a long time because they are buried inside other content. What can be done? Aaron Lawrence (talk) 12:03, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
The banner will disappear in a bit (see WMF:Fundraising FAQ) and after that there won't be a problem anymore. It would be possible to move the coordinates down closer to the line, but since the content between the line and the top of the page is variably sized and the coordinates are relative to the top right of the page, it would almost certainly overlap with something else. Maybe for next year Someone could implement Mediawiki interface elements fed from the article, so that other elements defined in the skins can align accordingly? --Para (talk) 14:23, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
It's still the same. 86.44.26.69 (talk) 23:45, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Problem with Ampersand in article title edit

If this template is used in an article which contains an ampersand (&) in its name it causes the linked http://tools.wikimedia.de/ page to display a screen-full of error messages before the usual green bar at the top of the page. Each of the error messages is similar to the following:

Warning: DOMDocument::loadHTML() [function.DOMDocument-loadHTML]: htmlParseEntityRef: expecting ';' in Entity, line: 32 in /home/magnus/public_html/geo/geohack.php on line 122

This appears to have something to do with the substitution of the ampersand with "%26" in the URL as the wikimedia page works fine if the ampersand is changed for an "and". Would it be possible revise the template to substitute an ampersand with "and"? An example of the problem can be seen at the Elephant & Castle tube station article. The ampersand is necessary in the article name because that is the correct name of the station. --DavidCane (talk) 11:41, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I assume your issue is resolved? I had previously/recently looked at the Coor and Coord families of templates' source code and I believe they do a urlencode of PAGENAME, some might miss doing that since each template seems to have its own variations of source code. I tried your example, and it appeared to work successfully (change the '&' to the appropriate HTML code instead). LeheckaG (talk) 21:46, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Redirect edit

{{Editprotected}}

This deprecated template is, at last, unused. Please redirect it to {{Coord}}, as was done with the similarly deprecated {{Coor at dms}}. Thank you. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 20:54, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
