The authorlink parameters should be compared against {{FULLPAGENAME}} to avoid creating a self-linked (bold-face) element. This would affect cases where an author is cited in an article about his or her own self. ―cobaltcigs 09:27, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

- Not really. It's not intended for direct use: it's a subtemplate, used within the following:
{{citation}};{{cite patent}}; and{{US patent reference}}. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:38, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
