Template talk:Cite journal/Archive 2009 June

Date output with Harvard templates edit

The {{harvnb}} template (and related) seems to require the use of the year= (rather than the date=) parameter in this template in order to link correctly to the entry in the "References" section. That's fine, I can use year= , month= and day= but is there an option I'm missing here to render the display of {{cite journal}} as MDY, rather than the current default of DMY? See this revision for an example. Steve TC 15:12, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've revised the sandbox example to illustrate. While {{harvnb}} needs the year, {{cite journal}} etc can take either date or year. If date is provided year will be defined automagically and the CITEREF linkage will work. LeadSongDog come howl 17:31, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Excellent. I tried that earlier, and it didn't work, but I've only just realised that this was because of the non breaking space I had between month and day. Many thanks, Steve TC 19:48, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
