Quality assessment

edit

The first table below gives a brief description of possible quality scale values. Before assigning any article to a class, please take a few moments and read the full description of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team's Assessment system.

An article's quality assessment is generated from the class parameter in the {{WikiProject Somaliland}} project banner on its talk page: {{WikiProject Somaliland|class=???}}

The following values may be used for the class parameter to describe the quality of the article (see Wikipedia:Content assessment for assessment criteria):

FA (for featured articles only; adds articles to Category:FA-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles)  FA
A (adds articles to Category:A-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles)  A
GA (for good articles only; adds articles to Category:GA-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles)  GA
B (adds articles to Category:B-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) B
C (adds articles to Category:C-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) C
Start (adds articles to Category:Start-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Start
Stub (adds articles to Category:Stub-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Stub
FL (for featured lists only; adds articles to Category:FL-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles)  FL
List (adds articles to Category:List-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) List

For non-standard grades and non-mainspace content, the following values may be used for the class parameter:

Category (for categories; adds pages to Category:Category-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Category
Disambig (for disambiguation pages; adds pages to Category:Disambig-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Disambig
Draft (for drafts; adds pages to Category:Draft-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Draft
File (for files and timed text; adds pages to Category:File-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) File
Portal (for portal pages; adds pages to Category:Portal-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Portal
Project (for project pages; adds pages to Category:Project-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Project
Template (for templates and modules; adds pages to Category:Template-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) Template
NA (for any other pages where assessment is unnecessary; adds pages to Category:NA-Class WikiProject Somaliland articles) NA
??? (articles for which a valid class has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unassessed WikiProject Somaliland articles) ???

Importance assessment

edit

Each article may also be assigned a particular importance.

An article's importance assessment is generated from the importance parameter in the {{WikiProject Somaliland}} project banner on its talk page:

{{WikiProject Somaliland|importance=???}}

The following values may be used for the importance parameter to describe the relative importance of the article within the project (see Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Priority of topic for assessment criteria):

Top (adds articles to Category:Top-importance WikiProject Somaliland articles)  Top
High (adds articles to Category:High-importance WikiProject Somaliland articles)  High
Mid (adds articles to Category:Mid-importance WikiProject Somaliland articles)  Mid
Low (adds articles to Category:Low-importance WikiProject Somaliland articles)  Low
NA (adds articles to Category:NA-importance WikiProject Somaliland articles)  NA
??? (articles for which a valid importance rating has not yet been provided are listed in Category:Unknown-importance WikiProject Somaliland articles)  ???

Optional parameters

edit
  • needs-infobox – set |needs-infobox=yes if the article needs an infobox. Remember that infoboxes are not suitable for all articles, and can overwhelm short articles.
  • category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.
  • listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for first name last name, use |listas=Last name, first name so that the talk page will show up in the L's and not the f's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
