Usage

edit

The {{WikiProject Michigan}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

{{WikiProject Michigan
| class =
| importance =
| attention =
| unref =
| imageneeded =
| imagedetails =
| detroit =
}}

Template display formatting parameters:

  • class – a rating of the article's quality; see Wikipedia:WikiProject Michigan/Assessment for more details. Valid values are:
    • FA - The article has reached Featured article status.
    • FL - The article has reached Featured list status.
    • A - Could be submitted as a Featured article candidate; probably could use some small updates to make it Featured quality.
    • GA - The article has reached Good article status.
    • B - Could be submitted as a Good article nominee; probably could use some updates or may lack some features from the Good article criteria, but it presents a good overview of the subject.
    • C
    • Start - The article is more than a stub, but may lack some important aspects of the topic's discussion.
    • Stub - The article is a stub.
    • List - The article is a list.
    • Disamb - The page disambiguates articles that would otherwise share the same title.
    • NA - The page is not an article and should not be rated; it could be a template, image or category, for example.
  • importance - a rating of the article's importance within the Michigan WikiProject. Valid values are (case insensitive):
    • Top
    • High
    • Mid
    • Low
  • attention - This article needs attention.
  • unref - This article lacks sufficient references.
  • imageneeded - This article needs an image.
  • imagedetails - Image suggestion details.
  • detroit - Indicates that the page is a member of the Detroit task force

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
