If the parameter alt_talk is set to an empty value as in {{User Alternate Acc|Username|alt_talk=}}, the banner will automatically provide a link to the talk page of the user page it is on (i.e. that of the alternative account), instead of the default link to the talk page of the primary account. Other values may be set if desired, per the example.

This can be disabled with {{User Alternate Acc|Username|cat=no}}.

Displays a banner on the user page declaring that this is an alternate account of a primary account.

Alternative talk page location	`alt_talk`	The username of another user talk page, if the discussions are not being held at the primary account's talk page. i.e. Example, not User:Example.	User	optional
Is retired?	`retired`	Is this account a retired alternate account?	Boolean	optional
Categorize account	`cat`	The template adds account to Category:Wikipedia alternative accounts. This can be disabled with 'no' value. Suggested values `no`	String	optional

Icon image url link	`link`	Can key in either url or pagename in wikisyntax, i.e. https://example.com or [[User:Example]].	String	optional
