Template:US-airport-minor can be used for any United States airport that has an FAA location identifier but where the other US-airport templates are not suitable for one of the following reasons:

  • {{US-airport2}}: This template requires an ICAO code, but the airport does not have one

This template currently generates all the same links as {{US-airport-ga}} except NOAA/NWS. The link for the Aviation Safety Network is only generated when an IATA airport code is supplied.

Usage

edit

To use this on an airport page, add the following under the "External links" section, replacing XXX with the airport's 3-character FAA location identifier:

  • {{US-airport-minor|XXX}}

The template supports a second parameter for airports which also have a 3-letter IATA airport code. This allows for the inclusion of external links which use the IATA code (currently just the Aviation Safety Network link). In the following example, YYY represents the 3-letter IATA code:

  • {{US-airport-minor|XXX|YYY}}

The template also supports a third parameter for airports which also have a 4-letter ICAO airport code. This allows for external links which use the ICAO code. In the following examples, ZZZZ represents the 4-letter ICAO code:

  • {{US-airport-minor|XXX||ZZZZ}}
  • {{US-airport-minor|XXX|YYY|ZZZZ}}

{{US-airport}}

  • Use this for airports which have scheduled flights and where the ICAO airport code is "K" followed by the FAA identifier. It includes an "FAA Delays" link that does not work for most general aviation airports. It also includes an NOAA / National Weather Service link that may not be valid for some airports.

{{US-airport-ga}}

  • Use this for general aviation airports that have no scheduled flights and where the ICAO airport code is "K" followed by the FAA identifier. It includes an NOAA / National Weather Service link that may not be valid for some airports.

{{US-airport-mil}}

  • Use this for U.S. military airports, such as Air Force Bases, Army Airfields and Naval Air Stations. This template only includes links that work for most military airports. It assumes that the ICAO airport code is "K" followed by the FAA identifier. It includes an NOAA / National Weather Service link that may not be valid for some airports.

{{US-airport2}}

  • Use this for airports where the ICAO airport code is not "K" followed by the FAA identifier. These are usually airports located outside the continental United States such as in Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico. The template name is based on the fact that it allows a 2nd parameter to specify the ICAO code. It includes an NOAA / National Weather Service link that may not be valid for some airports.
