{{UN population}} allows for the population of any country area or region to be updated from a single location. To use it on an article, enter the template {{UN_Population|Countryname}} for the population (use the UN WPP country or region name, which you can find in the template by opening it for editing).

You can also enter the year, the source, and cite the reference (see table). This will work in both the infobox and prose.

The data is taken from the UN World Population Prospects (WPP) website, which is updated bi-annually. Current data is 2021 estimate.

When updating the figures, also update the year (at the top).
