This template displays the input text in the standard italicized format for a taxon at the rank of genus and below with author(s) if given. It uses {{Taxon italics}} for the italicization. Don't use with already wikilinked taxon names; use {{Txil}} instead.

Usage

• {{tx|Panthera leo leo|([[Carl Linnaeus|Linnaeus]], 1758)}} yields Panthera leo leo (Linnaeus, 1758)
• {{tx|Trillium grandiflorum|(Michx.) Salisb.}} yields Trillium grandiflorum (Michx.) Salisb.
• {{tx|Paeonia daurica subsp. mlokosewitschii|(Lomakin) D.Y.Hong}} yields Paeonia daurica subsp. mlokosewitschii (Lomakin) D.Y.Hong
