The Yellow-faced Honeyeater (Lichenostomus chrysops) is a mid-sized bird in the honeyeater family Meliphagidae found on the east coast of Australia from northern Queensland to the coast of South Australia. As its name suggests, it has a distinctive yellow stripe on each side of its face, between two black stripes and a blue eye. It feeds on nectar, particularly of Eucalyptus and Banksia, seeds, fruits and insects and mainly forages in the foliage of trees.Photo credit: Fir0002
