This is a template for linking to entries in the National Inventory of Dams. Sample usage is as follows:

 {{NID|MT00001}}

Required parameters:

id. The National Inventory of Dams ID, consisting of the two-letter postal abbreviation followed by five digits.

Control parameters:

short. Set to "yes" for a highly abbreviated external link, displaying the ID number only, for use in tabular lists.
