The template name is "{{LocalWiki}}". It is used to link articles to a particular LocalWiki article, by the article's URL and title.

Usage

edit

Use this template to link Wikipedia articles to their LocalWiki counterparts, especially if the LocalWiki articles contain more information (including information of local interest more appropriate to LocalWiki than Wikipedia).

This template is designed to support links to all of LocalWiki's communities, which are listed below with their IDs in italics:

Two parameters

edit

At minimum, two parameters must be used in the template, the first indicating the name of desired community on LocalWiki (for instance, "ann-arbor") and the second the name of the article itself (for instance, "Labadie Collection"). Together, these parameters will form the page's URL, while the text of the link will be the same as the name of the Wikipedia page used on. Note that underscores must be used in place of spaces for the template to work. Example:

{{LocalWiki|ann-arbor|Labadie_Collection}} produces

The template links to https://localwiki.org/ann-arbor/Labadie_Collection, while the link itself displays the current page name.

Three parameters

edit

If three parameters are used in the template, the first two parameters will form the page's URL (as previously described), while the third will be the title of the link. This is useful for rendering link text that differs from the name of the Wikipedia article. Example:

{{LocalWiki|adelaide-hills|Peramangk_Aboriginal_People|Peramangk Aboriginal People}} produces

The template links to https://localwiki.org/adelaide-hills/Peramangk_Aboriginal_People, while the link itself displays "Peramangk Aboriginal People" (without underscores).
