  • ... that the Zunda Towers (pictured) in Riga, Latvia, changed their name from "Z-Towers" to avoid being associated with Russia's invasion of Ukraine? Source: https://archive.today/20220328105547/https://eng.lsm.lv/article/economy/business/riga-landmark-z-towers-change-their-name.a449928/

    • Comment: this is my second dyk nomination, so apologies if i have made any errors. any suggestions or advice is welcome.
admittedly, i have not successfully figured out how to use any of the citation bots yet, so would appreciate help from any wikignomes.
also. i am pretty sure that the towers are the tallest twin skyscrapers in the baltic states, but am unable to find a reliable source that explicitly states this. in addition, i believe one of the two towers may be considered the tallest building in latvia, depending on the definition of "tallest building" used, but i think explaining the definition used may end up being a distraction.

  • The article is long enough (c. 1700 characters) and fresh enough (nominated 7 days after creation). It is neutral and well-sourced. The English-language sources check out, and the Latvian ones appear to do so too using Google Translate. The hook is concise and very interesting. I see no copyright issues with the images (own work by Wikipedia editors and automatically checked FlickR transfers). I do suggest manually filling out the citation templates, though, as it will look far better than bare URLs. Surtsicna (talk) 03:49, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
    • @Dying and Surtsicna: actually, bare URLs do need to be cleaned up before this article can be promoted to the preps, per the DYK criteria. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 23:18, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
I forgot it was in the supplementary rules. Thank you. Surtsicna (talk) 04:49, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

sorry! one of the control keys on my keyboard has apparently gotten stuck during the past few days, so i have been putting off addressing anything that was not time-sensitive, as writing anything is currently an agonizing process. since i am not in a rush to get this on the main page, can we put this nomination aside for the moment? i can ping once the urls have been addressed. dying (talk) 00:32, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
