Zinc oxide nanoparticles
Zinc oxide nanoparticles
  • ... that zinc oxide nanoparticles (pictured), one of the three most produced nanomaterials, are commonly used in sunscreens?

  • Nominated one day after creation and is about 2350 bytes, satisfying date and length criteria. The segment "and precipitation processes such as solution concentration, pH, and washing medium" is off slightly, as the source indicates the processes are conducted while controlling these factors. Ref 5 doesn't say "most common use of ZnO nanoparticles is in sunscreen" (it does say "Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide ENMs, which are used in a huge array of products besides sunscreens..."), nor can I find this claim in the other sources. I will assume good faith for claims cited to references 6 and 7, which I cannot access. Everything else appears consistent with the references. Regarding the hook, it implies a causal relationship not mentioned in the article (used in sunscreen -> one of most produced), so it will need to be modified, or a different hook proposed. The image if from this paper published on PLOS One, which I believe is CC-BY-SA, and looks OK at the scale needed for DYK. QPQ not required, as this is the nominator's first DYK (and first article). • I just noticed that some of these claims come from a different source (though the research paper indicates it obtained information using a SurveyMonkey survey, for what that's worth). The hook is mostly OK, but the causal link needs to be removed. You can say something like "...that zinc oxide nanoparticles (pictured), one of the three most produced nanomaterials, is most commonly used in sunscreens?" Mindmatrix 21:38, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
  • @John P. Sadowski (NIOSH): Could you add suitable WikiProject banners to the talk page? Moreover, it would be useful to create a few links to this article, for example from sunscreen. Mindmatrix 21:29, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
