He could just as easily have been describing the de Kooning. But nobody thought of that until the painting was discovered in the Alters' bedroom, where it had been positioned in such a way that you couldn't see it unless you were inside with the door shut. What a story! On good sources, well-told, fine expansion, no copyvio obvious. Thank you for the ALTs, but I like the first best, factual and still dramatic. ALT1 reads too complicated to me. ALT2 and ALT3 are possible. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:23, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
